MONKHOUSE/WAT TYLER - SPLIT 7"

Monkhouse/Wat Tyler - Split 7"
Co.Down/London, 1995, Rejected Records, 7 inch.

More from the brilliant Monkhouse, this band really managed to release quite alot during their time, and each song a cracker of excellent heartfelt melodic punk. The flipside is reserved for the highly unusual Wat Tyler, being someone who isn't crazy about humour in music I have to say Wat Tyler are the exception to this rule, these four songs are amazing and always raise a smile!

SIR KILLALOT - SIX FIFTEEN 7"

Sir Killalot - Six Fifteen 7"
Dublin, 2000, Rise Above, 7 inch.

I fucking adored this 7" when it came out and I still love it now. Brilliant melodic, charging, anthemic hardcore-pop-punk here. Sorry about this rip, little bit more tricky than the others due to my copy of the 7" being overplayed over the years, surely that's a good sign though! Grab it.

THE GOLDEN HORDE - THE CHOCOLATE-BISCUIT CONSPIRACY LP

The Golden Horde - The Chocolate-Biscuit Conspiracy LP
Dublin, 1985, Hotwire Records, LP

Now this is an unusual one! Had to have a think about whether I should this up here or not, due to the fact that it was recorded on larger independent label but then I noted that the Lp is linked off Robert Anton Wilson's webpage (more on that in a second) so I may as well put it up here too. The Golden Horde were an infamous Dublin band that started up in 1982, emerging from the garage scene, with a dark and hypnotic sound. This album was a collaboration with eminent author, scientist and conspiracy theorist Robert Anton Wilson, who supplied both vocals and lyrics. Really worth a download, and go to IrishRock.Org to learn more about the Golden Horde.

NOISE POLLUTION/THE BLOODY MUTANTS - SPLIT 7"

Noise Pollution/The Bloody Mutants - Split 7"
Dublin/Wicklow, Late 90's?, Rejected Records/No Pride Records, 7inch

Another great Rejected Records release. First up is the crusty as fuck, fast and unrelenting Noise Pollution. On eht flipside The Bloody Mutants have four tracks of their straight ahead punk rock (especially love 'No Cold Cans'), saw them a few times around 2000, my last memory of them live is seeing them with Dogshit Sandiwch upstairs in the Gasworks, think they broke up around 2001.

JACKBEAST/SPITHEAD - SPLIT 7"

Jackbeast/Spithead - Split 7"
Dublin, 1996, Rejected Records/Kollusion Records, 7inch

Jackbeast seem to be getting more downloads than anything else on this blog so here's one deadly split 7". Two excellent tracks from Jackbeast and two Spithead numbers, this band from Birmingham were one of the few ska-ish punk bands I could ever really handle and 'Personal' is such a catchy tune, have always found that at least a couple of times a year that chorus pops into my head!

THE GOOD LADS - BEER & SEX & CHIPS N CURRY 7"

The Good Lads - Beer & Sex & Chips n Curry 7"
Wicklow & USA?, 2000, No Pride Records, 7inch

Now this is an odd one! Not really a hundred percent sure what the story was with this band, in the mid to late nineties I used to write to a guy in Wicklow called King Slug,he ran No Pride Records and I think he may have been in the Bloody Mutants too. I picked up this Macc Lads-esque pub-rock 7" off him when it came out. Never was sure if this was a band he did with some guys in the states or what the stoyr was with them at all, as its recorded in San Francisco, but fuckit cause it contains members of The Bloody Mutants and it's one of the more unusual Irish 7"s! Sory about the shit all over the cover of the record scan, got covered in beer ironically in the Milltown house :( So if anyone has anymore info or can set me straight on this band please comment!

STOMACH / ALLDAY - SPLIT 7"

Stomach/Allday - Split 7"
Dublin/USA, 1996, Rejected Records/Know Records, 7inch

More from the always excellent Stomach, one original and one cover of a Government Issue tune, great melodic, anthemic, punk. I think I first heard Stomach strangely enough on The Metal Show with John Kenny, that was one endless resource for a young lad living in the country pre-internet! It's how I heard Steeky, Blackbelt Jones, and a fair few other deadly bands, pity it turned into the Classic Rock hour and turned shit. Anyway also on this split is Allday from Long Beach.

CONTROL - DISCOGRAPHY! (UNRELEASED)

Control - Discography!
Dublin, Late nineties, Never Released!

What a beaut this is! Control were one of the most explosive Irish hardcorepunk bands of the late nineties. I only ever saw Control once but remember thinking oddly enough that Mero dressed in a shirt and slacks looked like an undercover pig, I guess I was a little young! Incredibly tragic that they never got some 7inches done but thanks a million for Gav for the opportunity to put these 20tracks up here that were recorded in Sonic Studios many moons ago! Some are untitled.
Control was:
Mero - guitars
Burkey - vocals
Gav - bass
Jay - drums

STRIKNIEN D.C. - SONGS FROM THE SMACK CRADLE 7"

Striknien D.C. - Songs From The Smack Cradle 7"
Dublin, 1995, Rugger Bugger Discs, 7"

Striknien D.C., what can I say? I fucking loved them. Classic 7" here from possibly the best Dublin punk band ever! Always loved the "No Thanks To..." lists that came with all Striknien releases I can remember!

GOUT - S/T 7"

Gout - S/T 7"
Dublin/Kilkenny, 1995, DIY?, 7"

THE DAGDA - S/T 7"

The Dagda - Self Titled 7"
Belfast, 2000, Funai Records, 7"

The first 7inch of one of the best bands to come out of Belfast in the past ten years, this 7" is in my opinion some of the best stuff they ever did, epic crust punk.

BAMBI - HIND LEG MEATY/SINK INCISOR 7"

Bambi - Hind Leg Meaty / Sink Incisor 7"
Dublin, Late Nineties? Sex Show Records, 7"

One of the two excellent later Bambi 7"s. More of the same brilliant rockin sleazy punk.

CHEAPSKATE/STEEKY - SPLIT 7"

Cheapskate/Steeky - Split 7"
Kilkenny/Dublin/Belfast, 1997, Rejected Records/Scrape Records, 7"

Excellent 7", Cheapskate smack out three punk as fuck numbers here, nice Bay Area (early 90's) sounding basslines, excellent vocals and some of the most well placed samples on an Irish 7" ever! Steeky play two amazingly anthemic, melodic, punk songs, and without taking a lazy comparison sound like a more pissed off SLF.

The Kabinboy - S/T 7"

VARIOUS - OUT OF THE TREES TAPE

VA - Out Of The Trees
Dublin, 1989, Tape, DIY

Now this one hell of a compilation! Not purely Irish but featuring 4 local bands. 3 songs from possibly the greatest Irish Punk Band Ever 'Pink Turds In Space' from Belfast, Dublin's own Crust as Fuck 'Killercrust' provide six unrelenting tracks including the brilliantly titled 'Napalm Paisley', 3 rockin grimey punk numbers from '3 Ring Psychosis' (Dublin) and perhaps the find of the tape for me 'Crude & Snyde' from Drogheda! Yes it is a great name, and the two tracks from here are absolute punk gems, seriously all good punk should sound as snotty as this, if after listening to these two tracks your not kicking over your table and spitting at your mates you just aren't punk! Alongside the Irish stuff is Sic from Japan, Inhuman Conditions and Bad Attitude from Germany, Kolerat and Krull from France, 7 Minutes Of Nausea and No Control from Australia, Lethal Dose from USA, & 16 B.U.H from Sweden. Thanks a million to Boz for this tape.

PINCHER MARTIN - DEMO 93' (& BONUS TRACK)

Pincher Martin - Demo 93' (& Bonus Track)
Dublin, 1993, Tape, DIY
A band I'd heard a lot about over the years but was never forutnate to hear until now! Thanks to Boz for sending this demo in plus bonus track 'Money' from the 'Zip Up Your Boots For The Showbands'(96'). I've been listening to this demo for weeks and still find it hard to put down. Their sound is hard to describe as each song seems to take on a form or style of its own, however incredibly hypnotic drumming and excellent buzzy guitar seem to feature throughout. This tape does have a bang of early 90's of it which in my eyes at leats is a good thing. The first song Box seems almost reminiscint of Therpay? first couple of releases 'Meat Abstract' and 'Babyteeth'. Each song flows quickly along on this quality recording finishing with the Bonus Track which is as anthemic as they come Download it and you won't be disappointed.
