THE ATRIX - PROCESSION ALBUM

The Atrix - Procession Album
Dublin, 1981, Scoff Records, Tape

Arguably the unrecognised gem of the first wave of irish punk/new wave bands. The Atrix started in 1978 and their catchy, atmospheric punk gems quickly garnered them a large following. 'Treasure On The Wasteland' featured on this tape is possibly one of the best songs of the early Irish punk scene, a song recently paid homage to by Paranoid Visions. Thanks for making all this stuff available. I've added you to my blogroll so hopefully a few more people will discover this garden of delights too!
Don't suppose you have anything by Sledgehammer? I have their "Money Is The Root Of All Evil" tape but did they record/release anything else?
    All the best

  4. Pretty sure Sledgehammer only releaased the one demo. I always thought they were up ther with Pink Turds live, but the demo was a let down.
I have a live tape somewhere.

Gary I would love to hear that live tape if you can get it ripped. Can you help out with the song titles on the demo?

  7. Just came across your blog and having seen The Atrix on many occasions I was mightily impressed to come across the Procression album being posted. I had a vinyl copy of this which I lent to someone years ago and when it was eventually returned it was scratched to bits. Thank you for bringing this back record into my life and you're right Treasure On The Wasteland is a great song. Keep up the good work.

  9. This is a great find - I thought I'd never get hold of some of this stuff again. I've had 'Procession' running around in my head for years, now it's back on the speakers.

Thanks for making all this available.
